Sunrise... time to get ready for an early excursion.
Our view at breakfast.
Streets of Valletta onthe way out to M'dina.
Entrance gate to the old walled city of M'dina.
The moat. At one time it did have water in it. Beautiful gardens now.
Just inside the gate.
The narrow and winding streets were a maze. Had to keep up or you would get lost. Very little room for gardens.
View from the top of the walls. Cities were very defensive at that time. The original city was very old and a few first century walls still remain but most was 11-12th Century.
The main gate from the outside.
Back to Villatta. The streets were so busy. Had to watch for our number and keep up.
The co-bassilica of St.John the Baptist.
The Baptism of Jesus behind the Alter.
Fountain of the Titans.
Museum of Archeology. Early Neolithic statue. I thought it looked like a tourist on a cruise ship
Port from the city walls. Cross of Knights of St. John. The same organization that runs St. John's First Aid courses. It all started here with the knights.
